Welcome to the Special Schools News & Events index Back to News & Events COMPELLING PERFORMANCES FROM THE NATION’S MOST EXCITING YOUNG ENSEMBLES SCHOOL PROM 2008   Royal Albert Hall, London 10, 11 & 12 November Three concerts showcasing high quality music-making from across the UK 3,000 young performers The world’s most famous concert hall; The Royal Albert Hall, will host the Music for Youth Schools Prom concerts from 10 to 12 November.  During the course of the three concerts there will be a range of music presented including Japanese Taiko Drumming, Orchestras, Jazz, Brass and much more, performing repertoire including Duke Ellington, Vaughan Williams and premieres of specially commissioned works each evening for Massed Choirs of 550 school children.  With so many exciting initiatives going on within the music education landscape, it’s a vibrant time for young people’s music making and these incredible concerts bring together over 3,000 inspiring young musicians, singers and dancers from every corner of the country.   The Schools Proms is the opportunity to see the next generation of creative, innovative and energetic performers.  4,900 tickets are available for the School Prom* The events will be hosted by composer and Singing Ambassador Howard Goodall, acclaimed lyricist Richard Stilgoe and Capital Radio & Classic FM presenter Margherita Taylor.
