Medway Green School
Special needs catered for
Medway Green is a school for children aged between 5 and 11 who have a range of special educational needs. All students should have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan. Students may have learning difficulties and/or low attainment as a result of either their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) needs.
Specialist facilities
All our classrooms are spacious and well equipped with the latest learning technology including interactive whiteboards and laptops for the students’ use.
We establish trust and build relationships, developing individual learning programmes determined by each student’s needs. Our environment has been carefully designed to help students feel safe and secure, and our skilled team ensures that all learning at Medway Green is underpinned by a concern for each child’s emotional wellbeing.
Whatever their level of ability, their programme is personalised to them and is designed to stimulate their interest and inspire a love of learning.
At the heart of our curriculum are the core skills of literacy and numeracy. We also make sure the education we offer is relevant to the child’s experience of the real world, enabling them to apply what they learn in the everyday environment.
Social, moral, spiritual and cultural aspects of their development are important too, and form an essential part of the Medway Green curriculum.
Our superb indoor facilities are complemented by plenty of outdoor space, giving our students the opportunity to learn, discover and explore in the open air. Outdoor learning opportunities form part of our curriculum, and our school enables them to take place in spaces designed specifically for this purpose.
General environment
Located in the village of Wouldham in Kent, our site has recently benefited from significant development, with our traditional Victorian school house and modern classroom block having been refurbished to the highest specifications. Everything about our school – from the high quality design of our environment to the professionalism and passion of our team – is about putting the needs of our students first and giving them the very best start in life.
