Special needs catered for

All students attending Heathermount have an Education & Healthcare Plan (EHCP) identifying autism as their prime area of need. We welcome enquiries from parents and local authorities.

Specialist facilities

Heathermount has a gym, fitness trail, play park, outdoor education / activities facilities and cycle track. The centre has excellent ICT learning facilities. Students enjoy real world learning in the wider community through the NVQ and Community Volunteering programmes of study. Through the Outdoor Education curriculum the students experience rock climbing, orienteering and cycling onsite and off-site students are engaged in canoeing, mountain biking and orienteering in surrounding lakes and forest. All Learners have an opportunity to take part in a wide variety of visits and trips.

At Heathermount we work with students and families to acquire skills for independent living, academic and vocational excellence; tailoring the curriculum to meet their individual needs and interests. Our students' mental health is paramount in preparing them for further education, training or employment.
